DUBAI: In an audacious move that redefines luxury and innovation in the automotive world, Vinile has announced the launch of a stunning reinterpretation of the iconic Range Rover Classic.

This limited-edition project, which encompasses just 15 unique units, captures the essence of a classic vehicle while seamlessly integrating modern aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology.

Based in Maranello, Italy, Vinile stands at the intersection of heritage and innovation, breathing new life into cherished automotive icons with a fresh perspective.

A visionary approach

The inception of Vinile represents more than a mere homage to the past; it is a bold reinterpretation that blends the nostalgia of classic design with contemporary advancements. Drawing inspiration from music remastering, Vinile aims to rewrite the stylistic codes of iconic vehicles, transforming them into masterpieces that resonate with a new generation of enthusiasts. The brand embraces the principles of craftsmanship, ensuring that each vehicle adheres to the highest standards associated with the prestigious "Made in Italy" label.

The driving force behind Vinile is a trio of seasoned entrepreneurs, each bringing over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. Their collective expertise spans aerospace engineering, finance, and motorsport, providing a robust foundation for this ambitious venture. With a skilled workforce of 100 professionals – including engineers, designers, and expert technicians – Vinile operates across five production sites covering a total of 10,000 square meters.

Reimagining the Range Rover Classic

Vinile’s debut project focuses on the legendary Range Rover Classic, a vehicle that has become synonymous with elegance and off-road prowess. Launched in May 1970, the original model revolutionised the automotive landscape, pioneering the Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment and combining comfort with remarkable off-road capabilities. Over the years, the Range Rover evolved, with the last unit of this first series rolling off the production line in 1996.

In a bid to honour this automotive icon, Vinile has embarked on an ambitious project that seeks to recreate the allure of the Range Rover Classic while incorporating modern design elements. Each of the 15 units will be meticulously crafted to reflect the vehicle’s historical significance and its evolution over the decades.

At the heart of the Vinile project lies a commitment to luxury and refinement. The team’s objective is to transform the Range Rover Classic into a luxurious retreat on wheels, reminiscent of an elegant residence. This has been achieved through a comprehensive redesign of the vehicle’s exterior and interior features.

The exterior lines have been streamlined, and the overall aesthetic has been enhanced with premium materials, ensuring that the vehicle maintains its classic charm while showcasing a contemporary edge. The engine has undergone a complete overhaul, preserving the original displacement options – 3.5, 3.9, and 4.3-litre V8 fuel-injected gasoline engines – while boosting its power output to approximately 200 horsepower, a significant upgrade from the original 167.

Craftsmanship meets innovation

Vinile’s dedication to craftsmanship is evident in the meticulous attention to detail throughout the vehicle. The original lines of the Range Rover Classic have been respected while refining critical aspects such as panel alignments and gaps, ensuring a flawless finish. Handcrafted metal components add a touch of artisanal quality, while new side skirts enhance the vehicle’s overall visual appeal.

One of the standout features of the new design is a glossy black band with yellow accents on the side, a nod to modern Range Rover trims. The front end showcases a bold character with three-dimensional-effect grilles and LED headlights that pay homage to the original styling. New bumpers have been seamlessly integrated into the bodywork, echoing the classic three-door design.

Inside, the transformation continues with a luxurious and sophisticated ambience. Vinile has employed the finest leathers from Baxter, a leader in luxury upholstery, to cover every surface of the interior, utilising 45 square meters of leather for the steering wheel, seats, dashboard, and door panels. This attention to detail creates a sensory experience that engages touch, sight, and smell, elevating the traditional car interior to new heights.

The integration of technology is both innovative and unobtrusive. A 10.1-inch capacitive HD touchscreen provides seamless control over navigation and audio functions, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A unique starting procedure reminiscent of a helicopter adds an element of excitement to the driving experience.

Adding to the bespoke luxury of the Vinile Range Rover Classic is a distinctive feature that sets it apart from other vehicles: a dedicated housing designed to hold the owner's wristwatch. This innovative touch allows the watch to become the car’s official clock, seamlessly integrating personal style into the vehicle's luxurious interior. This first-of-its-kind detail not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also emphasises Vinile’s commitment to creating a personalised experience for each owner.

Exclusivity and customisation

The limited edition of just 15 bespoke units of the Range Rover Classic by Vinile comes with an impressive price tag of €280,000, excluding custom options. Each vehicle will be fully customisable, allowing discerning collectors to tailor their purchase to reflect their personal tastes. The first unit is set to be unveiled on April 11, during Milan Design Week 2025, where it will be showcased in a striking metallic green exterior with a glossy black roof, complemented by an opulent interior crafted from Bo.Hemian Choco, Bo.Hemian Savana, and Kashmir Menthe leathers, along with white poplar burl wood.

With over 10,000 hours dedicated to development and more than 2,100 hours of craftsmanship required for each vehicle, Vinile is committed to producing an unparalleled automotive experience. The second unit is already underway, with ongoing customisation requests from potential buyers.
